Break into Prison Healthcare

At Care UK we are looking to recruit dynamic GP’s to join our growing team at HMP Isle of Wight. HMP Isle of Wight's is a category B male training prison. The prison holds approximately 1100 prisoners on two sites with a central administration.

About the Role:

At the HMP Isle of Wight you will be joining an enthusiastic team of GPs, RMN’s and HCAs providing ongoing treatment to patients within the prison. As a member of the Multi-Disciplinary Team, you as the General Practitioner will provide clinical assessment and diagnosis to patient’s requirements and make timely decisions regarding future management.

You will also provide a highly specialist resource to other healthcare staff, patients and have an active involvement in clinical governance/effectiveness activities

It doesn’t end there; you will have a chance to become actively involved in audit, teaching and training as well as helping us to adapt the service to the ever-changing needs of the patients.

What do we offer?

In this environment we appreciate flexibility around working hours but we are also willing to accommodate requests. Annual leave entitlement is 25 days per year plus bank holidays. Study leave entitlement is 5 days per year pro-rata and the re-imburstment of your indemnity if you are a salaried GP with us.
