Are you an experienced administrator looking for a varied and fast-paced role in the NHS?

 

This is an exciting opportunity to join the administrative team of the newly formed Primary Care Directorate.

 

What is the Primary Care Directorate? It is a group of GP practices who have become part of one of the local Foundation Trusts. With the merger of the Trusts these practices have come together to form the Primary Care Directorate. There are currently 2 practices in the Directorate, Warwick House Medical Practice in Taunton and Lister House Surgery in Wiveliscombe with another joining early in the New Year and further expansion in 2019

 

The opportunity: To be the first members of staff employed to work across the new directorate and be involved in the development of these roles and new ways of working, including virtual teams.

 

Working in a ‘base’ practice you will be undertaking work for that practice as well as performing some tasks for other member practices. This may be virtually or in some instances attending another base.

 

We have 2 posts available, 24 - 30 hours per post. These hours will typically be worked over 3-4 days between 08.00am and 6.30pm. At least one 6.30pm finish will be required.

 

The person: We are seeking enthusiastic and bright individuals who enjoy people contact and working in a busy, friendly, multi-disciplinary team environment to support us in the delivery of a quality service.

 

Whilst previous experience of working in a similar role or within the NHS is advantageous, personal qualities are just as important in this role. We are looking for someone who likes to be challenged mentally, use their initiative and wants to develop their skills and role.

 

If you have previous experience of a role within a GP practice, we would help you develop further and are particularly interested in hearing from you.

 

You will also be flexible, motivated and organised with excellent administration, data management and communication skills. Successful applicants will possess the ability to work independently, accurately and efficiently.

 

It is essential that the practice is adequately staffed at all times and the successful applicants will be expected to be flexible with regards to cover for absences due to holidays or sickness

 

The Role: Primary Care is a challenging and varied place to work, but this is what makes the role so rewarding. This is an interesting job and involves performing a range of tasks, including face to face contact with patient as well as administrative tasks. The key role of the Patient Services Administrator is to be the first point of contact for patients.
