An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, self-motivated, flexible individual to join the Community Paediatric Service as an administrator. This post is part-time working 9am-5pm Monday and Tuesday.

The post holder will be part of a busy team providing a comprehensive administrative and secretarial service to support the Community Paediatricians and Advanced Nurse Practitioners who care for children with disabilities and complex needs.

A significant part of the role will be spent dealing with incoming calls to the service relating to appointments and other queries. The role will also include typing, data inputting, filing, photocopying, booking appointments and other tasks as set out in the job description as well as occasional reception duties – greeting patients to clinics, confirming demographic information and dealing with enquiries as appropriate. The applicant will be expected to have good interpersonal and IT skills and be willing to learn and develop within the team.

You will have recent, relevant experience in an administrative or secretarial role, knowledge of office procedures and of Microsoft Word applications. You must have a level 2 qualification in a business administration related subject, for example: NVQ, OCR/RSA, City and Guilds, GCSE (grade A-C). Previous reception or customer service experience is essential for this role.

Occasional cover for reception at other sites is required and therefore candidates must be able to travel independently across the county.

The Trust offers a preceptorship year for newly qualified nurses and AHP's and attendance at preceptorship programmes is a condition of employment.
