Highly Specialist Speech and Language Therapist, in Ear Nose and Throat and Head & Neck Cancer Services.

Following the successful bid for Macmillan Funding, we are looking for an experienced, highly motivated specialist Speech and Language Therapist to join our Head and Neck Cancer team at the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital. You will be joining a strong team of specialist ENT speech and language therapists, who are well established and with a fantastic reputation throughout the hospital. The Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital forms part of the East of England Cancer Alliance and is the main Head and Neck Cancer site for Norfolk, Waveney and East Suffolk.

As part of this role experience of working with a head and neck caseload is essential. Undertaking videofluoroscopy, FEES, managing patients with tracheostomies and surgical voice restoration is also a requirement of this post. The department is well equipped with its own endoscopy equipment and has a well-established surgical voice restoration service. We also actively participate in joint head and neck clinics and radiotherapy clinics. A commitment to service development is also necessary to the head and neck team and wider SLT service.

You will join a supportive and motivated department and will have access to a number of specialists, including: Voice, Critical Care, Older People’s Medicine and Stroke. The team are enthusiastic and innovative and are committed to evidence based practice. Regular team meetings, support and supervision ensure a high quality of service is provided by you and the team as a whole. The team also has strong links with the University of East Anglia, including the School of Health Sciences, including the undergraduate SLT degree course and Medical School. These links offer exciting opportunities for professional and personal development and are actively encouraged together with Macmillan funded training and CPD.

Full time: 37.5 hours per week
