Band 8a Dietetic and Speech and Language Therapy Service lead

Part time (22.5 hours/wk)

Royal Papworth Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is the UK’s largest specialist cardiothoracichospital, and has a world famous reputation for innovation and clinical excellence.

You will be joining the Trust at a very exciting time as we move to a brand new hospital building on the Cambridge Biomedical Campus. The state-of-the-art building is virtuallyall single room en-suite patient accommodation. Construction is complete and we move to the new site in April 2019.

The move to the new site will allow Royal Papworth Hospital to work alongside some of the world’s leading healthcare companies and organisations including Cambridge University Hospital, giving our patients immediate access to a range of services and also expanding opportunities in terms of research and education.

We are looking to appoint a Lead for our Dietetic and Speech and Language Therapy teams, following an exciting opportunity to bring these two services together. This newly created role will be responsible for the leadership, development and promotion of both the Dietetic and Speech and Language Therapy services provided at Royal Papworth Hospital and will be a job share with a Dietitian.

You will be a Speech and Language Therapist, registered with the HCPC. Demonstrable experience of clinical leadership, line management of staff and service development is essential. You will be a confident communicator with a collaborative style, an excellent clinician with cardiothoracic experience and able to demonstrate initiative and flexibility. Specialist clinical skills in Tracheostomy, FEES and Videofluoroscopy are desirable.

You will be supported by the Head of Therapies and surrounded by a friendly and experienced AHP team.
