Salary: £29,177 to £33,222

Permanent: Full Time, 40 hours per week

Location: Wing College

Cambian Group, the UK’s largest provider of specialist services in children’s residential care, education, mental health rehabilitation and learning disabilities, is looking for a dedicated individual to join the company as a Mental Health Practitioner. This post is a newly created role to join a successful expanding team, the post will require someone with previous experience of working in CAMHS settings.

Cambian Wing College is a specialist further education college, offering day, 38-week and up to 52-week residential placements for young people aged 16-25 with Asperger’s Syndrome or high-functioning autism.

Job Role

You will be providing a therapeutic service to young people placed within Wing College by assessing and identifying their needs and meeting them through consultation and training to Residential and Educational staff, direct therapeutic work, care planning and management in conjunction with the Multi-disciplinary team.

Dependant on your experience you may be required to supervise other Mental Health Practitioners, Clinical Psychology Trainees, Healthcare Students and Assistants.

The core of your role you will be providing specialist support following assessments of the children and young people at the education setting, a good working knowledge of how to formulate and implement a person centred approach based on the mental health needs of the individual either through direct or indirect interventions.

Person Specification

  • Hold an RMN or RLDN Qualification
  • Registered withNMC
  • Be a strong team player, with excellent communication skills
  • Good organisational and time management skills.




  • Previous experience in working with children & adolescents
  • Providing consultation to groups
  • Leading/teaching workshops to peers
