Are you looking to start a career in health and social care but not quite sure where to begin? Did you know you can get paid whilst you work and study as an apprentice?

The Surrey Heath Health and Adult Social Care team are looking to recruit apprentices to join our team in Spring 2019. Join us as a health and social care assistant and experience first-hand what it’s like to work in a number of settings and gain a national qualification.

This is an exciting opportunity for you to work in Health and Adult Social Care and assist people to maintain basic needs and achieve the highest levels of independence with daily living skills. The role includes spending time in social care, out in the community an in hospitals.

You will:

  • Spend time in social care, the community and in hospitals
  • Gain on the job experience whilst working towards an accredited qualification
  • Learn how to support individuals with their day to day activities and tasks
  • Promote physical and mental health and well-being
  • Maintain accurate records of the care and service provided
  • Learn how to preform clinical tasks e.g. taking blood pressure levels

You will be fully supported throughout the apprenticeship with a view to achieve a nationally recognised qualification (Adult Care Worker Level 2). Your mentor will help you to develop the skills necessary to carry out your day-to-day duties.

Salary: £11,117.60 per annum year 1

All you need is a caring and compassionate attitude with a willingness to learn. Experience of working in health and social care would be desired but it is not essential.
