A new post has been created as part of our expanded Business Intelligence Team which sits within wider Information and Business Intelligence Department in IM&T at Warrington & Halton NHS Foundation, who are keen to transform and deliver true intelligence for today’s healthcare scenarios both in the Trust and nationally.


We have embarked on a challenging but exciting journey to deliver our new Information Transformation Road Map, where Information and Business Intelligence (BI) is taking the lead. As a result the Trust is seeking to appoint a technically skilled, committed, confident and motivated individual with a enthusiasm for BI development who, alongside the BI Manager, will collaborate with IM&T teams and partners to deliver business intelligence across the Trust using the latest technologies.

You will play a key role in the development of the business intelligence instant access portal and lead the design and delivery of self-serve automated dashboards and reporting suite that meets demands of executives, CBU Managers both clinical and operations and other key stakeholders.
 Working closely with the BI Manager and Corporate Information Manager you will support the delivery of the IM&T Information Strategy and BI Road Map to take the Trust reporting to a level that meets industry and best practice standards. 

You should be have a thorough understanding of Business Intelligence and have the ability to produce intelligence derived from data collected via Trust systems held locally and externally held data to deliver succinct reporting used for service delivery, service improvement, business planning and commissioning. You will possess excellent technical, analytical, communication and organisational skills with a flair for improvement. Candidates should be educated to Degree level or equivalent experience. Working knowledge of SQL, Reporting Services and an appreciation of BI Tools are key.

Please note pay progression is subject to the NHS Agenda for Change Pay Progression provisions applicable from 1st April 2019.

All posts are subject to NHS Employment Check Standards including a DBS check, if applicable. Depending on the classification of the post, in-line with DBS guidelines, a Standard or Enhanced disclosure will be required which may include a check of the ‘Vulnerable Adults List’, the ‘Children’s List’ and/or the Independent Safeguarding Authorities (ISA’s) barred lists.

A charge of £39 (Standard) or £60 (Enhanced) will be made by the successful candidate which will be deducted from the first 3 months’ salary. In addition to this, you will also be required to re-pay any future costs that may arise in relation to DBS fees.

NB. Current employees of Warrington and Halton Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust who have had a satisfactory DBS check, carried out by this Trust during the last 3 years, will not be required to undertake a new one. Where staff have not had a check (classification appropriate to the post offered) within the last 3 years, they will be required to undertake and pay for this, as per the arrangements above.
