The CDS Designed to Smile Team has a vacancy for a Dental Health Educators (DHE) to work as part of the Designed to Smile Programme in the ABMUHB area; with the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

Designed to Smile is a Welsh Government (WG) initiative to improve the oral health of children in the 0-11 year age group throughout North and South Wales. The Designed to Smile Team are responsible for delivering this programme to the communities of Swansea, Neath, Port Talbot and Bridgend.

Applications are invited for an enthusiastic, flexible and motivated qualified DHE to work as part of the Designed to Smile Team.

The post requires good communication and organisational skills and the ability to work with children and adults with diverse social and health care needs in schools and other settings. The successful applicant will be working in all areas outlined above and will be required to travel to establishments in any of the localities of the service group when necessary.

The successful applicants will be responsible for delivering the Designed to Smile programme which will include topical application of fluoride to children. Providing oral health messages and promoting positive oral health behaviours to children and adults in schools and other settings.


The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
