Essex Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust (EPUT) is one of the biggest Mental Health and Community NHS Foundation Trusts in the country, we are newly merged organisation previously known as 'SEPT' and 'NEP' and have just achieved a 'Good' CQC rating supporting all of the hard work and achievements our EPUT staff had made since the merger. We provide community services across South East Essex, West Essex, Bedfordshire and Luton. We also provide integrated care including mental health, learning disability, and social care to culturally and economically diverse communities across Bedfordshire, Essex and Suffolk. Unlike acute hospital services, Community Health Services, mental health and learning disability services are mainly provided in community settings with defined geographical localities. As a result we operate from various locations across Bedfordshire, Essex and Suffolk

Due to an exciting new partnership with Dementia UK a new and exciting opportunity has arisen for two registered nurses to join Essex Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust (EPUT) as Band 6 Admiral Nurses.

 

The primary focus of the Admiral Nurse role is to provide and influence the clinical leadership and delivery of person-centred and relationship-centred dementia care across the North East Essex Locality and supporting the best practice the staff across EPUT. The Admiral Nurse team will improve the experience of carers and families affected by dementia by providing support, expert guidance and practical solutions. The service will operate as a partnership between Dementia UK and EPUT, as the host organisation and the Admiral Nurse team will be based within The King’s Wood Centre as part of the ‘Dementia and Memory Assessment Pathway’ and the ‘Dementia and Frailty’ service.

 

Under the supervision of a Band 7 Admiral Nurse Clinical Team Lead, the Band 6 Admiral Nurses will deliver evidence based dementia care and support improvements in the experience for families affected by dementia and support the delivery of key quality and performance indicators relating to dementia care, including the experience of families.

 

The successful applicants will be NMC registered with post-registration clinical experience of working with people with dementia and their carers/supporters in different settings, along with formal knowledge of dementia acquired through clinical post-graduate training/education. Experience of recent involvement in practice/service development is essential, along with the ability to operate effectively with a constantly developing relationship with key stakeholders and associated agencies.
