Rapid Response Therapist

An exciting job opportunity has arisen within the Rapid Response Team at Warrington hospital.

We are a forward thinking and developing Rapid response service working in a very busy and exciting A&E department.

We are primarily an assessment and discharge service – the post holder will be required to work generically carrying out the role of both OT and Physio.

An in depth understanding and experience of working within the specialist area of frailty and the clinical skills to make a decision on the best pathway for patient discharge will be essential to this post.

This is a unique opportunity to develop specialist skills using a Therapy model that delivers responsive solutions to a needs led assessment enabling our patients to be placed onto the correct pathway.

Over the coming 12 – 18 months the team will be engaging in several exciting new developments in clinical working practices and procedures and the successful applicant will play an integral part of shaping the future of Rapid Response services at Warrington and Halton Hospitals.

The Therapy team places high importance on the value of evidence based practice and continual professional development and follows a robust in house training and development programme which includes in-service training, team support groups, supervision, personal Development Reviews and Trust Training sessions.

Warrington and Halton Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is a forward thinking progressive organisation who is currently one of only 6 NHS Trust nationally to be included in the NHSI AHP’S Supporting Patient Flow Improvement Collaborative. The trust has also launched their first AHP Trainee Advanced Practitioner Posts one of which will be providing patient assessment in the Role of AHP Triage in A&E.

All posts are subject to NHS Employment Check Standards including a DBS check, if applicable. Depending on the classification of the post, in-line with DBS guidelines, a Standard or Enhanced disclosure will be required which may include a check of the ‘Vulnerable Adults List’, the ‘Children’s List’ and/or the Independent Safeguarding Authorities (ISA’s) barred lists.

A charge of £39 (Standard) or £60 (Enhanced) will be made by the successful candidate which will be deducted from the first 3 months’ salary. In addition to this, you will also be required to re-pay any future costs that may arise in relation to DBS fees.

NB. Current employees of Warrington and Halton Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust who have had a satisfactory DBS check, carried out by this Trust during the last 3 years, will not be required to undertake a new one. Where staff have not had a check (classification appropriate to the post offered) within the last 3 years, they will be required to undertake and pay for this, as per the arrangements above.

Disclosure and Barring Service Check

This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions.

Tier 2 Certificate of Sponsorship
