In 2002 Inclusion was created as part of the award winning South Staffordshire & Shropshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust, now known as Midlands Partnership Foundation NHS Trust. It was developed to provide evidence based innovative services to beneficiaries across England with the flexibility to provide local solutions to local communities but with the governance and commitment to quality of the NHS.

Successful in its endeavors, Inclusion has grown to both substance misuse and mental health services in the community, residential and prisons. Employing over 500 staff, including Psychiatrists, Counsellors, Doctors, Nurses, Therapists, Drug & Alcohol Recovery Workers, Peer Mentors and Volunteers. We provide services to in excess of 19,000 services users per annum across the Home Counties, Midlands, East of England up to the North of England.

The range of services we provide allows us to work with our service users in prisons, extending this into community settings, tackling both substance misuse and mental health concerns. Inclusion has extensive experience of working alongside and providing services to Clinical Commissioning Groups, Local Authority Public Health Teams, Police & Crime Commissioners, NOMS, NHS England and a broad range of public and voluntary sector institutions. The Inclusion Directorate with Midlands Partnership NHS Foundation provides Integrated Mental Health and Psychosocial teams into 10 prisons across Staffordshire and Worcestershire.


NHS England has issued new Mental Health and Substance Misuse Service Specifications for prisons. This is an exciting opportunity which will involve significant recruitment and service delivery redesign


As part of this development we are increasing our leadership. We are recruiting a Senior Qualified Mental Health Professional at HMP and YOI Swinfen Hall to lead the team and spearhead recruitment to new posts to meet the new service specification.

The team manager will be supported by a Clinical Lead and Psychosocial Lead and will lead and manage a multi-disciplinary team consisting of Consultant Psychiatrists, Psychologist, RMN’S, Occupational Therapist, Psychosocial Recovery Workers and Social Worker. Assessment and interventions are delivered within the framework of a stepped care model.

The majority of service users at HMP/YOI Swinfen Hall are aged 18-25 with complex offending backgrounds.

You will need an excellent working knowledge of the Mental Health Act and its application to prisoners who require transfer to hospital.

We are looking for a highly motivated individual with the ability to support and inspire the team. We are looking for someone with professional resilience who engages fully in supervision as working in a prison environment can be challenging as well as rewarding.
