We are seeking to recruit a suitably qualified and enthusiastic Clinical Psychologist to join the Paediatric Psychology Service at Sheffield Children’s Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

This post will involve working into the Oncology (0.5wte) and Chronic Pain (0.5wte) team at Sheffield Children’s Hospital alongside other experienced Clinical Psychologists. There may also be the requirement to work with children and families with other physical health conditions as part of routine service delivery and professional development.

The Paediatric Psychology Department supports many clinical services across Sheffield Children’s Hospital, from within medical and surgical hospital Divisions. The hospital itself looks after patients aged 0-19 referred from all around the UK. There is a strong culture of research and training within the Paediatric Psychology Department, and a huge amount of expertise in working with children with physical health problems. You will a join a well-established and innovative Paediatric Clinical Psychology service which has firmly established administrative support, and provides regional and national specialist services, through direct patient care, consultation and supervision within general Paediatrics as well as many Specialist Services.

The team is multi-disciplinary with Family Therapy and Liaison Psychiatry support. There are currently good prospects for further expansion of the Paediatric Clinical Psychology Service

In line with other NHS Organisations in the Yorkshire and Humber Region a successful candidate appointed into a post within this Trust will be required to pay the DBS check fee (£49). This is customarily payable over 4 months as a salary deduction once employed by the Trust. If you receive a conditional offer letter, complete your DBS application and later withdraw from the recruitment process, an invoice will be raised via the Trust's finance department to recoup the outlay.
