Community Paediatrics

Part time - 22.5 hours per week

Permanent, Children’s Services

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a part time (22.5) Speech & Language Therapist- working within the Children’s Community Service at Colchester General Hospital. The expansion and development of the current service to incorporate pre-school children is giving a fabulous opportunity to work as a significant member of the SaLT team within the community paediatric multi-disciplinary service, including community paediatricians, nurse specialist, Specialist Health visitors and nursery nurses.

Working alongside these highly skilled and experienced colleagues and involved in specialist MDTs the new post holder will assess children aged between 0-19 for neuro-behavioural conditions. Assessments will be varied and will include domiciliary, nursery and school visits as well as clinic based assessments.

Our child-centred team is very friendly and forward looking; we are committed to regularly reviewing and improving service delivery, clinical supervision and CPD opportunities for training to further develop your specialist knowledge.

The successful applicant must be a confident and enthusiastic therapist who has experience in Autistic Spectrum Disorder, caring for children and has worked successfully within a Multi-Disciplinary Team.

Within the bigger SaLT team (supporting adult services) you will gain from an amazing collective clinical experience of 180 years and supportive environment of generous clinical reasoning and knowledge within a can do team.
