With proposed changes to services within Cwm Taf, the Health Board is looking to recruit potentially more than one consultant dependent on the final model of the service change. The successful candidate will be expected to be able to work at both the Royal Glamorgan and Prince Charles Hospitals as well as peripheral clinics at Ysbyty Cwm Rhondda and Ysbyty Cwm Cynon. We are looking for a consultant that can provide leadership on the Delivery suite, lead on guideline development and review, participate in skills and drills and reduce unnecessary intervention.


Prospective cover is included for colleague’s normal annual leave.


The specific job plan will be subject to change and approval from the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists but will typically include regular antenatal clinics, delivery suite session, gynaecology clinics and theatres.


Participation in a 1 in 6 on call rota inclusive of prospective cover and covering a Friday pm on a 1 in 6 rota. As outlined earlier this rota will change in line with the changes in service provision for increased obstetric number delivering at Prince Charles Hospital.


The post holder will be responsible for the day-to-day management of patients and will be supported by office facilities and secretarial support.
