Consultant Radiologist x 1 Post

 

Warrington & Halton Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is pleased to offer outstanding opportunities for 1 full-time Consultant Radiologist with a specialist interest in Chest and Paediatric Imaging.

The Trust wishes to appoint 1 full-time Consultant Radiologist with experience and interest in chest and paediatric imaging, to join the team of 17 Consultant Radiologists. There is scope for joining a team of Chest Radiologists performing lung/chest biopsies, chest x-ray and lung cancer MDT, supporting development of lung cancer pathway. There is scope for streamlining Paediatric Services and joining a team of 3 Radiologists with special interest in Paediatric imaging, Paediatric MDT, collaboration with regional Paediatric Centre at Alder Hey and/or other local hospitals in Cheshire and Merseyside.

A full range of radiological services are available at WHHFT including Interventional Radiology, Ultrasound, Nuclear Medicine, CT/MR, DEXA, Cardiac Catheter Suite and Breast services.

There are 3 multi-slice CT Scanners, 2 MRI Scanners, a gamma/SPECT camera and a comprehensive multi-site ultrasound and plain radiography service. You will also add a contribution to general radiology and be part of a 1:15 On-Call Rota at Warrington Hospital.

There is a Carestream PACS system installed. Opportunities for home reporting will be available in the near future.

The Trust is actively involved in Undergraduate and Postgraduate teaching, in association with the University of Liverpool and up to 6 Specialist trainees are attached to the department at a time. The Trust comprises of three hospitals; Warrington (Acute), Halton (Non-Acute) and the Cheshire and Mersey Treatment Centre (Non-Acute Orthopaedic and Imaging Unit).

Warrington is located in a desirable part of Cheshire in the North West of England, equidistant from the vibrant cities of Manchester and Liverpool. These areas afford a variety of recreational, cultural, entertainment, retail and sporting/leisure opportunities to suit most interests. Beautiful countryside is easily accessible in the Lake District, Peak District and North Wales. Transport links are excellent with easy access to the M6, M56 and M62 motorways and the national rail network. Manchester and Liverpool international airports are nearby (30 minutes drive).

A charge of £39 (Standard) or £60 (Enhanced) will be made by the successful candidate which will be deducted from the first 3 months’ salary. In addition to this, you will also be required to re-pay any future costs that may arise in relation to DBS fees.

Current employees of Warrington and Halton Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust who have had a satisfactory DBS check, carried out by this Trust during the last 3 years, will not be required to undertake a new one. Where staff have not had a check (classification appropriate to the post offered) within the last 3 years, they will be required to undertake and pay for this, as per the arrangements above.
