Genetic Technologist - Development Specialist

A Genetic Technologist post has arisen in this busy, multidisciplinary genomics laboratory. The post will focus on development and implementation of assays to deliver the National Genomic Test Directory, as part of the Yorkshire & North East Genomic Laboratory Hub (YNE GLH). Applicants will have a biological science degree and be able to demonstrate a strong interest in diagnostic genetics and a keen interest in assay/service development.

Applicants should have worked in an accredited NHS diagnostic laboratory or equivalent workplace and should be AHCS registered or in the process of applying for registration.

The successful applicant will have substantial diagnostic laboratory experience and shown competence in a wide variety of analytical techniques. Management of people or projects is highly desirable.

You will be a team player who is looking to expand your knowledge and experience in a Diagnostic Genetics laboratory who is also capable of managing a diverse workload and working to tight deadlines.

You will have worked with Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) and understand UKAS accreditation requirements.

This post is temporary in the first instance.

This is customarily payable over 4 months as a salary deduction once employed by the Trust. If you receive a conditional offer letter, complete your DBS application and later withdraw from the recruitment process, an invoice will be raised via the Trust's finance department to recoup the outlay.
