Do you enjoy helping people and making a difference to the lives of families, children and young people? Then the MindMate Single Point of Access (SPA) Operational Manager is the job for you.

Leeds MindMate Single Point of Access (SPA) is a Leeds Community Healthcare NHS Trust hosted service that receives referrals for school-age children and young people, who need support with their emotional wellbeing or mental health difficulties. We are based in a call centre environment at Merrion House in Leeds City Centre. We receive referrals from professionals by email or telephone, triage them accordingly and then allocate to the most appropriate service. From October 2018 we started accepting self-referrals directly from young people and families. The team comprises of administrative staff and clinicians from The Market Place, Northpoint, Child & Adolescent Mental Health Services and the Cluster.

About You

The successful candidate will have demonstrable leadership skills and be able to evidence strategic and operational thinking. They will be adaptable, approachable and have the ability to use their own initiative as well as working as part of a team. We are continuously looking to improve the service we offer and you will be expected to drive forthcoming changes at a strategic and local level and have good change management skills. A background of having worked in children's services, mental health, and/or an understanding of children's services and referral pathways would be desirable.

The Leeds MindMate Single Point of Access (SPA) uses multiple electronic databases such as the Mosaic, SystmOne, Synergy and CareNotes. Therefore a high level of computer literacy, comm unication and multi-tasking skills are essential to the role. Experience of working in a busy and fast-paced environment with live databases and patient contact, especially via the telephone, would be advantageous.

Please note that due to the nature of this role, you will need to be able to travel independently across the area and have access to a suitable vehicle for business purposes. If necessary, adjustments can be considered in accordance with the Equality Act 2010.

If you are successful in being offered a position which involves working with patients, you will be required to undertake a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. The level of check required is dependent upon the position that you have applied for. The Trust will administer the DBS check on your behalf and will recover the cost (Enhanced £48.83 or Standard £30) from your salary. There will be no charge if you are enrolled in the DBS Update Service.
