Yorkshire Ambulance Service (YAS) serves over 5 million people in the Yorkshire region covering an urban and rural area of almost 6,000 square miles and operates over vastly differing terrain ranging from isolated moors and dales to city centres, large urban areas and coastal stretches. YAS employs around 5000 staff and has over 2000 volunteers working together to provide 24 hour accident and emergency healthcare services through our Communication centres and frontline A&E crews and our Patient Transport Service (PTS) that conveys in excess of 1.1 million patients to and from their hospital appointments across Yorkshire and neighbouring counties each year. Yorkshire Ambulance Service NHS Trust is currently seeking to fill a number of vacancies for HCPC registered Paramedics in the North Yorkshire area, and would welcome applications from both HCPC registered Paramedics and those due to qualify from a HCPC approved paramedic programme within the next six months.

 

We are looking for individuals who are committed to providing an excellent standard of pre-hospital care, have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, along with a common sense mature approach to problem solving and the ability to work in pressurised situations.

 

As this is a driving role it is essential you have a full driving licence (with no more than 3 penalty points for a minor offence) and have the full C1 category on your licence.

 

At present we currently have vacancies in the North Yorkshire area. Within your application please indicate your preferred base(s) - please refer to the attached map which details the locations of our ambulance stations.

 

Newly qualified paramedics will be appointed to the band 5 pay scale and will be progressed to the band 6 pay scale upon completion of a two year consolidation of learning programme. For qualified paramedics post registration experience and qualification will determine the pay scale upon appointment.
