Royal Papworth Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is located in a bespoke, purpose-built hospital on the world-class Cambridge Biomedical Campus (CBC). The Administrative Services are based in Huntingdon.

In April/May 2019, the hospital will move into a brand new hospital on the Cambridge Biomedical Campus. The new, state–of-the-art facilities will help us to continue providing high quality care for our patients and realise our vision of becoming Europe’s leading heart and lung hospital.

We are looking for new nurses to join our surgical team. Posts will be based in Papworth Everard until May 2019, after which all nurses will be based at our new hospital on the Cambridge Biomedical Campus. We have big ambitions for our new hospital and need caring, committed nurses to help us continue providing the high quality care that we are known for.

We perform more major heart operations than any other UK hospital, as well as a range of specialist services including heart and lung transplantation, Pulmonary Endarterectomy (PTE). complex surgery for advanced thoracic malignancies and lung volume reduction surgery. We perform more heart and lung transplants than any other UK center, achieve excellent outcomes and employ some of the most talented people in the field. Our new hospital will be state of the art, equipped with the very latest medical equipment to help our staff deliver excellent patient care.

We nurse level 1 patients in our Progressive Care Unit; patients with end stage heart and respiratory disease who require a range of organ support interventions including intermittent continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP); Inotrope therapy and ventricular assist devices.
