Our Trust is a great place to work and we are keen to ensure that all our employees have the right values in order that we can provide the best service to our patients. These values are very important to us, and as a potential candidate you should be made aware that we test for these throughout the whole assessment/recruitment and selection process, and will only interview and recruit individuals who demonstrate these values through their application and behaviour.

Details of our Values can be found on our website link 'Working together for outstanding care - our vision'

We are looking to recruit a highly motivated, conscientious and caring individual, to undertake the role of ward housekeeper, which supports both the patients and teams within our older adult service.

You will need to demonstrate a commitment to providing and maintaining high quality standards and be patient centred.

You will also need to have excellent communication and inter-personal skills along with a flexible and responsive approach.

This role is also undertaken with another colleague and will cover 7 days per week. Therefore the successful candidate will need to demonstrate good team working and a level of autonomy to maintain the expected standards.

Applicants should have some experience of working in a care environment, either nursing or housekeeping capacity.

This is an extremely rewarding area to work and if you feel you have what it takes to undertake this role then we would love to hear from you.

The 2 wards based at New Haven provide treatment and care for individuals with functional illness and dementia. The service here has a total of 30 beds.

The hours of duty are worked on a rotational basis across the week (including weekends and bank holidays)

The Trust is committed to staff development and education and you will be part of a caring focused service that values its staff and in return for your commitment you will receive support for your professional and educational development.

PLEASE NOTE: All new appointments are subject to 6 months’ probation period.

If the same or similar vacancy arises within the recruitment period of this post or up to 3 months afterwards, the Trust may chose not to re advertise, but to select a suitable candidate from this interview pool. The new post may differ in terms of the base, hours available (full or part time) or contract type (permanent or fixed term) and therefore you are encouraged to apply for advertised posts but specify on your application form your preferences.

In the event of exceptionally high levels of response, we reserve the right to close the post before the date stated in order to prevent the number of applications received being unmanageable. You are advised to submit your completed application as soon as possible to have the best chance of being considered.

Applicants must have the ability to communicate clearly and effectively in English in both verbal and written formats.

**If the position being applied for requires a DBS check to be undertaken on you, it will be a condition of your employment that you have subscribed and continue to subscribe to the DBS Update Service. New employees to the Trust are required to pay the fee for the initial DBS check (this will be deducted from their first months’ salary) and the annual subscription (£13) to the DBS Update Service. Internal applicants are required to pay the annual subscription fee only (£13). Further information on the update service can be found on our website link ‘DBS Update Service.’

The Trust offers a preceptorship year for newly qualified nurses and AHP's and attendance at preceptorship programmes is a condition of employment.
