If the answer is yes, then an excellent opportunity has arisen within the Nutrition and Dietetic Department at West Cumberland Hospital in Whitehaven to recruit a motivated, enthusiastic, Senior Band 6 Dietitian. This is an exciting time to come and work for the Cumbria Partnership Trust due to the integrating of 2 Trusts, which will transform the Nutrition and Dietetic service across North Cumbria.

This post would be suitable for a Band 5 Dietitian who has been in post with previous experience or a Band 6 dietitian who is looking to relocate.

You will join a busy, energetic, friendly department of 5 Dietitians, an Assistant Practitioner and Administrative Assistant and have the support of a Team Leader, Professional Lead and a Senior Network Manager.

This post will involve working mainly in the Acute but could involve having a small caseload in the Community.

The successful applicant will be an experienced Dietitian with a varied, exciting and challenging caseload including: nutritional support, gastrointestinal disorders, enteral, parenteral nutrition, surgical and stroke.

You should be able to demonstrate the ability to work within a changing environment and have good communication skills and provide evidence of ongoing professional development relevant to this post. Regular supervision and support will be provided. You will also be expected to support junior members of staff and students with the guidance of the Team Lead, Senior Network Manager and Clinical Professional Lead.

A BSc Hons degree in Dietetics or equivalent is essential. A driving licence and access to a vehicle are also essential as this post covers a large geographical rural area.

There will be a relocation package offered to the successful candidate.

Healthcare Professionals returning to practice, moving into new roles or changing clinical environments, may access an agreed preceptorship period.

The cost of the DBS must be met by the successful candidate(s) through salary deduction. DBS charges are as follows if applicable to the post:

Standard Check: £26 + Administration cost of £4 = deduction from salary as a one off payment or over 3months at £10 a month

Enhanced Check: £44 + administration cost of £4 = deduction from salary as one off payment or £15 deduction from 1st months salary, £11 deduction from salary over following 3 months.
