Come and Join our team. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Nurse to join and lead our dedicated team of Looked after Children’s Nurses (LAC) at Sheffield Children’s Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. We are looking for a motivated, enthusiastic, dynamic and forward thinking Nurse with significant experience in the field of safeguarding and looked after Children. The post holder will bring both expertise and extensive experience with strong leadership ability to improve the health outcomes for Looked After Children and Care Leavers.

The post holder will be responsible for a small caseload of Looked after Children and Young People. It is expected that the post holder will autonomously undertake direct specialist clinical work including carrying out statutory health assessment reviews on Looked after Children; also providing individual health promotion and group interventions with our population including care leavers.

You will need to demonstrate excellent communication and report writing skills with the ability to work flexibly using your own initiative, so that expertise and assurance can be provided to all relevant stakeholders. Working closely with the Designated Professionals for Looked After Children, you will help engage with and influence partner agencies ensuring that the complex needs of this transient group of vulnerable children and young people are understood and develop across the wider Health Communities in Sheffield.

In line with other NHS Organisations in the Yorkshire and Humber Region a successful candidate appointed into a post within this Trust will be required to pay the DBS check fee (£49). This is customarily payable over 4 months as a salary deduction once employed by the Trust. If you receive a conditional offer letter, complete your DBS application and later withdraw from the recruitment process, an invoice will be raised via the Trust's finance department to recoup the outlay.
