Did you know that our Trust provides a range of community and inpatient care across mental health, learning disabilities and physical health care?

We provide a specialist Inpatient service for adults with mental health needs across 3 inpatient wards. Our teams sit within the Adult Mental Health and Learning Disability Service Delivery Unit.

The patient group for Worcestershire is diverse and encompasses a broad spectrum of needs and illnesses.

We have an exciting opportunity for a full time band 6 Deputy Ward Manager, to work clinically on our psychiatric intensive care unit within a multi-disciplinary team.

The Hadley Unit is a 9 bed psychiatric intensive care unit. The unit provides care and support for both male and female service users who have been identified as being at a higher risk of harm to themselves or others. The ward is based in a purpose built unit at Newtown Hospital.

The ward comprises a multi-professional team of people, including Doctors, Nurses, and Allied Healthcare Professionals along with support from Ward Clerk and Hotel Services Staff.

Applicants are required to be dynamic, organised, enthusiastic and motivated. You will need excellent communication and assessment skills and be able to use your initiative and keep calm in a busy and unpredictable environment.

The successful applicant will assist the Ward Manager in the provision of clinical leadership, driving up and maintaining quality care and being a positive clinical role model.

This will provide an ideal opportunity to enhance your skill base in clinical leadership and ward management, with opportunities to become involved in a variety of work streams including recruitment, service and staff development and audit.

The shifts are fully rotational including nights, weekends and Bank holidays.

The Trust offers a preceptorship year for newly qualified nurses and AHP's and attendance at preceptorship programmes is a condition of employment.
