An exciting and rewarding opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated and BSE accredited cardiac sonographer to join our friendly imaging team. The cardiac ultrasound service undertakes around 6100 examinations each year on patients ranging in age from neonates to 16. You should be reliable, enthusiastic, hardworking and committed to giving your patients and their families the very best quality of care.

You will be supported by a group of Consultants Radiologists, two Paediatricians with Expertise in Cardiology (PEC's) and 5 other Sonographers (4 general, 1 cardiac) who all strive to provide an excellent service for our paediatric patients and referring clinicians. The succesful candidate will become an integral part of a busy cardiac ultrasound service which will provide many opportunities for learning.

This is a full-time post (37.5 hrs) position. It is expected that after a mutually acceptable introductory period, successful candidates will participate in an out of hour’s on-call service. Sheffield Children’s is one of only four dedicated children’s hospital trusts in the UK. We are a paediatric major trauma centre and the Radiology department is working towards ISAS accreditation. Sheffield is one of the greenest cities in the UK, sitting on the eastern edge of the Peak District national park and as a University city, we have a varied nightlife and music scene.

This is customarily payable over 4 months as a salary deduction once employed by the Trust. If you receive a conditional offer letter, complete your DBS application and later withdraw from the recruitment process, an invoice will be raised via the Trust's finance department to recoup the outlay.
