CONSULTANT EMERGENCY GENERAL SURGEON WITH A SPECIALIST INTEREST IN COLORECTAL SURGERY

Applications are invited for a Consultant Emergency General Surgeon with a special interest in Colorectal Surgery based at Leighton Hospital, Crewe. This is a new post and the post holder will be responsible for running and developing the Surgical Ambulatory Care Service at Mid Cheshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (MCHFT). The post holder will join a team of 13 Consultants with interests in Colorectal Surgery, Upper GI Surgery, General Surgery and Breast Surgery. This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic individual who is keen to help us develop our services for the future.

The successful applicant will contribute to the overall performance of the General Surgery / Colorectal Service and will participate in an emergency on-call service for General Surgery on a 1:8 basis.

The Trust was rated as ‘Good’ by the CQC from its recent inspection, has a good reputation for research and benefits from some of the very latest clinical facilities; these include Critical Care, neonatal intensive care, state-of-the-art theatres and a dedicated day case Treatment Centre. The Trust has invested significantly in recent years in clinical expansion.

Applicants must have full registration with the GMC including a License to Practice, and be on the Specialist Register (or be within six months of obtaining their Certificate of Completion of Training).

The post is offered on a full time basis at 10 Programmed Activities. There will be the opportunity to modify the job plan after commencement in post.
