Specialist Nurse- Trans Catheter Aortic Valve Implantation (TAVI)

We are seeking an enthusiastic, experienced registered nurse for a new post in the Cardiology Service at the Glenfield Hospital.

The Trans Catheter Aortic Valve Implantation Service (TAVI) is well established, with both national and international recognition. To compliment this established service and in recognition in the growth of the service, we are seeking a TAVI Specialist Nurse, who will provide nurse leadership and clinical expertise working with patients and their families throughout the pathway.

The successful post holder will require appropriate experience in caring for cardiac patients, will demonstrate passion for this area of evidence based practice and be keen to develop their clinical acumen in order to deliver nurse lead clinics and be the main point of contact for the service. In return for working in an exciting, expanding specialist field the post holder will receive support for personal development, both locally and through professional networks.

We will provide an appropriate induction/mentorship package, including the opportunity to network and gain an insight into the wider Renal Respiratory and Cardiovascular (RRCV) Clinical Management Group operations and the context of the TAVI service within the organisation. You will be joining a well-established team both within RRCV specialist nursing , however new skills and ways of working that you may bring to the post would certainly be encouraged and highly valued.

Glenfield Hospital (GH), is RRCV’s main administrative site and is located approximately three miles from Leicester City Centre on a spacious campus. This site will eventually be the hub of all speciality acute services in Leicester.

The campus has its own emergency ambulance bay and helipad, modern speciality theatres and intensive care units are also based on this site. GH campus is a regional centre for clinical research with both Respiratory and Cardiac Biomedical research units based here and has close links with both the University of Leicester and DeMontfort University.
