This is a national vacancy and the location can be based at an NHSBT National centre, to be agreed with the successful applicant

The people who make up our numbers at NHS Blood and Transplant (NHSBT) are nothing short of marvellous. Every single day, they work together to produce results that set standards that other worldwide health organisations seek to emulate – and they never stop striving for excellence.

Joining the Diagnostic and Therapeutic Services directorate, you will be instrumental in the nationwide delivery of our life-saving procedures. In the Therapeutic Apheresis Services (TAS) team, we are constantly looking for ways in which we can improve the service we provide to patients. As such, we will look to you to implement clinical governance processes to  ensure our high standards are being maintained. You will also shape our long-term future as you execute a strategic framework for staff education and professional development, to reflect changing practices and organisational needs. You will also be keen to collaborate in research relating to apheresis.

This is a role that requires you to build close partnerships with a variety of stakeholders such as external consultants and specialist trainers. We will therefore expect you to have exceptional communication, relationship-building and people management skills. As a senior-level Registered Nurse, ideally with a teaching and assessing qualification, you will have experience of setting and monitoring standards of care. Fluent in regulatory frameworks and professional standards, you will have previously presented educational materials. With the financial acumen to determine whether your education solutions are providing value-for-money, you will have a proactive and analytical approach to work.

With plenty of industry-leading training opportunities and a commitment to promote internally wherever possible, your career is in safe hands when you join NHSBT. It is a constant source of pride to us that our employees genuinely love their jobs, and that many of them have been – and will continue to be – with us for years. The simple fact is that we are passionate about building a workforce who want to stay with us for the duration of their careers, so we have created a supportive and inspirational working environment for them. Further enhanced by generous benefits and plenty of guidance, this is a team that you are bound to flourish in.

The advert will close for applications at midnight on the evening of Wednesday 19th December. For informal enquiries please contact Kay Harding at
