Shropshire Community Health NHS trust are working with ‘DEMENTIA UK’ a national registered charity to  further develop our Admiral Nursing service and compliment future Dementia Services. We are seeking an individual to take this established service forward for families and carers  supporting people affected by dementia. This is part of developing dementia services for the Telford and Wrekin community.

Admiral Nurses provide specialist dementia nursing expertise and support to those affected by dementia, working in the community working with families and carers.  Their role encompasses the following elements:

-        Practical advice, emotional support, information and interventions to carers and professionals relating to dementia care

-        Advising, delivering education and training packages in dementia care across agencies

-        Promote best practice in person centred dementia care

-        Contribute to the promotion and development of the Dementia Strategy

-        This is provided in provided in both the home and clinic environment

An Admiral Nursing Advisory Group has been formed with contributions from Carers, Health and Social Care Professionals, Research and Development contributors and Joint Commissioners to support the service in delivering on these important developments.

Staff who are new to the NHS will normally start on the bottom increment of the payscale advertised. From 1st April 2019 new starters to the NHS or those promoted to a new role will be subject to pay progression arrangements as contained in Annex 23 of Agenda for Change Terms and Conditions.

  • Clinical Bank Workers – To ensure professional practice and competence is up to date a minimum of 6 assignments must be undertaken in each period of 3 months and you must attend any training you are notified of. It is your responsibility to provide evidence that your professional practice is up to date.
  • Non-clinical Bank WorkersA minimum of 1 assignment must be undertaken in a 6 month period and you must attend any training you are notified of.
