Here at LPFT, our people lie at the heart of everything we do.

We employ around 2,700 staff who are pivotal in our success.

Do you want to join a Trust rated by our own staff as one of the best mental health trusts in England, located in a county heralded as a fantastic place to live and work?

We provide mental health, learning disability and autism services to a local population of over 755,000 across 45 sites, as well as specialist services for children and young people.

The Contracting Team are now looking to recruit to the position of Head of Contracting and Commissioning on a 12-month fixed term (or secondment) basis. Applications are invited from those with the relevant skill and experience level with the determination to support our commissioning ambitions.

Building on our recent investment, we are looking for someone with a proven track record who wants to develop their leadership skills in a challenging but supportive environment. You should be a visionary who can impact culture in the workforce with the ability to build an engaged, enabled and high performing team. Collectively, the Team has oversight of a portfolio in excess of £100m income and expenditure contracts.

The right candidate would be influential and persuasive with a high degree of commercial acumen. You will be able to build, create and develop dynamic relationships internally and externally with colleagues, providers and commissioners.

This role will significantly contribute to the shaping, planning, design and delivery of commissioned services and underpinning processes. The individual will lead on specific areas of commissioning and contract management for LPFT and on behalf of the wider Lincolnshire system for Mental Health.

Through championing a robust contract management approach, the role will promote patient-centred care, high quality and efficient services. We are leading the way with mental health transformation projects. Multi-million-pound schemes to transform patient environments and radically redesign community services are currently underway, as part of our commitment to reshaping the future of mental healthcare.

We believe the key to high quality patient care is a contented workforce. This is reflected in the Care Quality Commission rating us as ‘outstanding’ for well led and ‘good’ overall, and 75% of our staff recommending us as a place to work.

We offer options for flexible working and provide development pathways and opportunities. We have a proud partnership with the University of Lincoln and the Lincoln Medical School, which has expanded our academic offerings to nurture talent across the Trust.

We are a Silver Standard Employer with ENEI, were in the top 100 organisations in the county within the Stonewall Index (in 2019), and have been a finalist for the Health Service Journal (HSJ) Mental Health Trust of the Year Award two years in a row.

We offer 24-hour services within our Inpatient, Crisis and SPA teams, if you are successfully appointed to posts in these areas or others that might have specified, you will be required to work unsociable hours and shift patterns.
