An exciting opportunity has risen to appoint a Band 6 Clinical Practice Educator within the Quality and Education team in Adult Critical Care. This is an exciting time to join the team as we are making significant investment in virtual education and training, simulation and international nurse recruitment. Therefore this role is central to the delivery of this.

 

The post holder will be a proactive role model who leads in the clinical environment on the provision of clinical education and assessment of competence on the Critical Care Units. You will play an essential role in the development and implementation of education which will include:

 

  • Supporting, educating and developing registered and unregistered staff in their clinical role and competencies to ensure the provision of high quality, safe, efficient and effective evidence-based care.

 

  • Working clinically with new starters to Critical Care as well as working clinically to develop and maintain your own clinical skills.

 

  • Assisting in identifying areas for improvement and develop targeted teaching and learning activities to facilitate improvement.

 

  • Developing, facilitating and delivering training and educational sessions and optimise learning activities for practitioners at Unit and Trust level.

 

  • Identifying, leading and completing on educational projects that will lead to staff development and better patient outcomes.

 

About you:

 

  • You will be a registered nurse with significant experience in Critical Care.

 

  • You will be able to demonstrate recent teaching or mentoring experience and possess a recognised teaching/ assessing qualification.

 

  • Critical Care Course or equivalent or evidence of working towards (desirable).

 

  • You will be able to demonstrate effective influencing skills, excellent communication skills and be able to lead and develop change in the clinical environment.

 

 

The successful candidate will be provided with the opportunity for ongoing professional development and the opportunities to continue to develop their educational skills.
