Band 5 Research Staff Nurse

 

An exciting opportunity has arisen for two enthusiastic and motivated Band 5 Staff Nurses to join the Leeds Clinical Research Facility team. We are looking for two dynamic individuals who will provide clinical leadership and management with specialist expertise and professional knowledge. The successful candidates will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

 

These posts will encompass providing direct clinical care to patients participating in clinical trials, ensuring high standards of clinical care delivery, patient safety and patient satisfaction. Working with a team made up of both nursing and administrative staff, and ensuring that all research that is undertaken within the department safeguards the wellbeing of patients and is conducted in accordance with current Governance and Regulatory requirement.

 

As a Staff within the clinical research team you will conduct various clinical activities and support the delivery of Early Phase/Translational Research in line with Trust Policies and clinical trial regulations, although chemotherapy competency is not essential, it would be advantageous.

 

This advert covers one vacancy within the Haematology Research Team and one within the Leeds Clinical Research Facility Team. Both successful candidates will support their respective teams to deliver a portfolio of clinical trials within the Leeds Clinical Research Facility.

 

The Leeds Clinical Research Facility is a 17 bedded flagship research facility delivering a large and active portfolio of transitional and clinical research, which covers development of biomarkers, early phase trials and Advanced Therapies. The portfolio includes industry sponsored, academic and NIHR studies covering a wide range of specialities which include Oncology, Haematology, Gastroenterology, Endocrinology and Neurosciences. The role encompasses working with various Multidisciplinary Teams, both internally and externally, Sponsors and Clinical Trials Units nationally and internationally.

 

Both teams manage a complex portfolio of clinical trials. We actively participate in early phase 1 trials through to high recruiting phase 3 trials.
