This is an exciting opportunity to join the Leeds Teaching Hospitals Technical Information Team as Data Warehouse Technical Lead.

The Trust has several programmes aimed at digitally enabling our clinical services. This role will focus on our existing Data Warehouse, our Azure cloud services and how we expand our Azure hosted services.

The Trust produces vast amounts of data from the billions of transactions it performs every year across £1 billion of activity a year; leveraging the value of this data is fundamental for the success of our strategy. Your Data Warehouse, ETL experience will ensure we can deliver at pace and with confidence in the security, integrity and accuracy required.

The successful candidate will be joining Digital Information & Solutions CSU and will undertake tasks such as:

  • Leading data management design and evaluation.
  • ETL design, conception, development and management.
  • SQL expert for the team and lead during investigations of requirements.
  • Drive efficient delivery of business intelligence solutions and reporting outputs.
  • Deliver Azure or Cloud based solutions in conjunction with our partners, developers, Infrastructure specialists.
  • Deliver high levels of technology assurance and high levels of customer satisfaction
  • Convert the technical requirements of our trusted warehouse environment into the architecture and design that will guide the final Azure Data Platform

Working with business analysts and developers, the post holder will be involved in the full development lifecycle from stakeholder engagement; requirement gathering and data model design; meta data and data quality definition capture; database design, development and data model integration; which will lead into data repository solution implementation and deployment.

The post holder will provide expert advice to ensure that data / insight requirements are included as part of all systems developments. They will also provide leadership in transitioning from local reporting mechanisms to using advanced business intelligence tools. More broadly, the post holder will be taking forward the Digital Information & Solutions vision by delivering strategic data solutions for the Trust that facilitate the provision of accurate and reliable information.

The role reports to a Technical Information Manager who leads a team of passionate data experts responsible for the development and deployment of modern data analytics solutions for the Trust.

Hybrid working is available (home and office working) with the base being St James Hospital Leeds.

Initial Tenure is 12 months fixed term, tenure may be made permanent after 12-month review.
