Ambulance Service Volunteer – Based at Truro

Volunteer placements available 7 days a week operating between 1300-2300hrs. The specific hours of your volunteering time is negotiable between these operating hours and will be covered during your volunteering opportunity discussion.

We are seeking volunteers to support our Crew Welfare Car initiative which is a provision to ensure our operational ambulance crews have access to refreshments when booking clear at Emergency Departments across the South West. This role will suit individuals who are good communicators and looking for a rewarding voluntary position.

The role involves being part of a team to maintain a refreshments provision with tasks that include stock management, driving the crew welfare vehicle (some opportunities also available for non-drivers), making and serving hot drinks and other light refreshments.

You would be part of a rota provision where you will start and finish at the ambulance station in the listed locations. Operating as part of a pair or occasionally on your own, you will move to hospitals as directed by local ambulance officers, to provide refreshments for ambulance crews. Full briefing, training and support will be provided locally.

Your commitment will be to forward plan your availability to volunteer and to maintain communication should anything change. This is an important role in our organisations’ service delivery and every applicant should not underestimate the positive impact they will have in ensuring our service remains effective and ready for our communities at their time of need.

The role is voluntary and as such there is no financial remuneration. Your time, energy and commitment is provided freely by you and on the days you agree to volunteer.

Shortlisting will take place on 30th & 31st August 2022 with Skype volunteering opportunity discussions on the 12th, 13th & 14th September 2022.

The successful applicants will be able to commence placement as soon as recruitment checks are completed.
