Patient Support Assistant
Fixed term for 6 months
18.5 hours per week

 

An new and exciting opportunity has arisen for a compassionate, reliable and committed individual to join our Patient Experience Team. You will be expected to work across all wards in the Walton Centre by providing a support service to both patients/families and volunteers and be a crucial communication link for patients and their families as well as daily support for ward volunteers.

If you have excellent communication skills and have the ability to remain calm and patient this role will be suitable for you. You will need to be computer literate and any previous NHS or supportive duties would be an advantage. If you have experience of using Datix this would be very much desirable although full training will be provided to successful candidates on induction.

This is a 7 day service, between 2 post holders and therefore hours are worked on a 4 week rolling rota and include alternate weekend shifts.

Main Duties will include:
To act as the link between ward staff, volunteers, patients and families and the Patient Experience Team

Dealing with telephone enquiries and making calls relaying information in a sensitive manner, always with diplomacy and tact

Building and maintain effective working relationships at all levels and provide communication service to patients and their families including supporting with virtual visiting and organising visiting rotas

Relay and record accurate information regarding patients to their families in an timely manner as directed by ward staff and/or Patient Experience Team

Record all enquiries on Datix to ensure any escalations are recorded accurately.

All positions at The Walton Centre are subject to a 6 month probationary period.
