An exciting opportunity has arisen within our Patient & Family Experience Team. We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, highly motivated, forward thinking Volunteer Co-Ordinator to support our patients, carers, families, and existing volunteers at The Walton Centre NHS Trust
The successful candidate will work with teams across the Trust and will be responsible for recruiting, training, supporting, and developing our voluntary services, so that we can support our community.

Main duties

The Walton Centre NHS Foundation Trust is the only provides specialist hospital trust in the UK dedicated to providing comprehensive neurology, neurosurgery, spinal and pain management services. We are proud to be rated as an ‘Outstanding’ Trust by the Care Quality Commission (CQC), and champion change throughout the field of neuroscience.

The role is for 26.5 hours per week and the post holder will be a proven tea m player with excellent communication skills with significant, relevant experience. A high level of liaison with difference professionals is incorporated in this role, as well as the ability to deal with challenging situations, successful recruitment, training and support of volunteers is essential to the role.

Attention to detail, and good organisational skills are key components to the role, the post holder will be confident to run induction sessions as well as attend meetings. They will be required to provide daily support and guidance to our volunteers, as retention is imperative and volunteer wellbeing is paramount. The post holder will need to organise and support events with volunteers as well as introducing new initiatives.

Role to be worked flexibly to over 4 or 5 days to meet the needs of the service.

All positions at The Walton Centre are subject to a 6 month probationary period.
