Quality Investigations Officer - EOC

Job Reference: 202-A-22-17787

South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust
Trust HQ, St Jmaes, Hybrid
£25,655 - £31,534 PA

The Patient Safety team is expanding and we are looking for enthusiastic and dynamic individuals to take on the role of Quality Investigations Officers (EOC). These are challenging, yet rewarding roles supporting the Patient Safety Manager, Quality Leads, Assistant Quality Leads and the wider team to deliver high quality, accurate and fair reviews of incidents.

We are looking for individuals with analytical brains who can use their experience to investigate incidents to support the production of excellent written reports and identify learning for the Trust.

It is an exciting time to be joining the team with the advent of the Patient Safety Incident Response Framework (PSIRF), so adaptability and a willingness to embrace change is a must. New ways of working will be coming our way in how the Trust continues to meet statutory and national obligations; and continually improve service delivery

Communication skills, both written and verbal are essential as the successful candidates will be producing work for a multitude of audiences including patients, families, external stakeholders and Coroners, to name a few.

This is an extremely demanding role which requires resilience, both emotionally and mentally; and individuals will need the ability to remain calm when working under pressure. Whilst the successful candidates will be great team players; the ability to equally work on their own initiative and manage a workload with competing priorities is required; so a sense of humour also helps.

In return for all of this, the successful candidates will have flexible hybrid working and be welcomed into a very supportive and proactive team, with the opportunity to learn and develop within the field of Patient Safety.

The role is full time Monday to Friday. Whilst this is predominantly office hours (with no unsocial hour payment) there is flexibility with hours worked
