The Opportunity

This is an exciting time to join a newly established, evolving organisation in a key executive position. The NHS Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire Integrated Care Board was established on 1 July 2022 and will be an integral part in delivering the success of the BNSSG Integrated Care System (ICS), which serves a population of 1 million. The ICS comprised of 10 partner organisations, including the three Local Authorities in our area, NHS Trusts, the new Integrated Care Board and community and General Practice providers. It is also known as the Healthier Together Partnership.

We are entering an exciting period for health and social care, in which the shift from competition to collaboration will be a challenging one.

The Role

The Director of Performance and Delivery will be required to ensure that the ICB meets the performance targets set for it by NHS England, NHS Improvement the BNSSG Partnership Board. Jointly with other system partners, the Director of Performance and Delivery is responsible for ensuring that the ICS has operational plans that deliver its strategic intentions and performance targets.

The Director Performance and Delivery will support the development and delivery of the long-term plan of the ICB. They will ensure this reflects and integrates the strategies of all relevant partner organisations of the ICS, with a particular focus on developing robust operational plans, meaningful performance metrics and delivery mechanisms for the achievement of performance targets across all services

As a member of the unitary board (ICB), each board director is jointly responsible for planning and allocating resources to meet the four core purposes of integrated care systems; to improve outcomes in population health and healthcare; tackle inequalities in outcomes, experience and access; enhance productivity and value for money and help the NHS support broader social and economic development.

The successful candidate will have to demonstrate how they lead in an ethical, collegiate and professional manner in which equality, diversity and inclusion are central.

We are looking to recruit an exceptional, experienced, highly motivated and innovative individual. Reporting to the CEO, you will be joining an ambitious team that operates within a partnership built on a solid foundation of mutual trust and respect.

The ideal candidate will have experience of providing primary, community or secondary care leadership. They will have substantial board level leadership and or system leadership experience and have led change and transformation at significant scale within a complex regulated environment. The ideal candidate will also have a passion for addressing discrimination and inequalities and will have a track record of success in this area.
