The Trust will support you in this duty by providing ongoing training, support and advice and have a Corporate Safeguarding Team who can be contacted for guidance and the provision of safeguarding supervision.


Seeking a new team member to work across two step-up, step-down community elderly care rehabilitation wards in Petersfield Community Hospital, Hampshire. Working alongside an experienced Specialty Doctor, Advanced Nurse Practitioners and guided by a Community Consultant Geriatrician and Nurse Consultant in Frailty, you will become part of an expanding, exciting and outward looking team. Opportunities to work in the Laurel (rapid) Assessment Unit and to undertake community assessments (following 1 to 1 training, if required) will be available; as these increasingly become part of our community support service.

We see our Petersfield frailty services working in an increasing, close relationship with a similar Southern Health team and services at Gosport War Memorial Hospital and Solent NHS Trust teams in Portsmouth City. Working in the near future, to establish a Portsmouth and South East Hampshire locality Frailty network and Single Point of Access.

SHFT will support Specialty Doctors wishing to progress in their training, skills and requirements to achieve the new Specialist Doctor grade. Links with Portsmouth Hospital are also established that would allow development of a mixed community/acute post.
