About the Trust:

West Hertfordshire Hospitals NHS Trust provides acute hospital-based and specialist healthcare services to around half a million people living in Hertfordshire, north London and further afield.

The Trust was the first hospital in Europe to treat patients with Puritan Bennett 980 ventilators, a type of ventilator that helps patients to breathe more naturally and recover more quickly.

Hertfordshire has the best of both worlds, surrounded by beautiful countryside but with good road and rail links to both London and Cambridge, as well as comprehensive bus services across the main towns (Hemel Hempstead, St. Albans and Watford).

What you’ll be responsible for:

  • 1 To provide a high standard of individualised care to patients, whilst maintaining at all times their privacy and dignity.
  • 2 To assess care needs, develop, implement and evaluate programmes of care
  • 3 To contribute to supporting the Senior Sister/Charge Nurse
  • 4 To practice in accordance with the NMC Code of Professional Conduct and Trust policies procedures and guidelines

The role will involve, but not be limited to you performing the above.

You’ll have the following qualification/experience:

  • A minimum of 6 months paid experience in an Acute hospital environment within the last 3 years
  • Comply with NMC Professional Registration and keep up to date with current nursing practices
  • Ensure accurate records are kept in accordance with CHS policy and NMC guidelines
  • Undertake regular mandatory training*

*Depending on the Trust, you may require variable additional certification and skills.
