NHS Blood and Transplant is an integral part of the NHS. Operating a network of centres across England and North Wales, we collect around 2 million units of blood and tissues a year, converting them into safe and effective blood components, blood and tissue products for use in the treatments of patients. This pivotal role will see you leading the implementation of a robust service management approach to our systems, providing operational resilience and high levels of customer satisfaction as we continuously improve our services. Leading the design of mission-critical IT services, your role will involve translating customer requirements into service level agreements and contractual obligations for each IT service. As part of that, you’ll need to describe the scope of services, delivery models and people as well as ensuring effective transition planning by implementing robust release and deployment management processes.
By taking responsibility for our Service Management function and supporting the continuous improvement of our DDTS services, you will be pivotal to the advancement of our technology – and our life-saving work.
Educated to degree level (or equivalent) with ITIL certification at foundation level or higher, you’ll have significant leadership experience and a track record of developing service and operating level agreements and support models within a large organisation. An excellent knowledge of IT service and product management principles is essential, as is an in-depth working knowledge of ITIL standards. We’ll also need to see exceptional customer relationship management skills, experience of change, project, contract and financial management, and the ability to present reports at executive board level.
