About the role

As part of our vision of delivering excellent social work across the county we see the value of having specialist subject experts to support our social work teams across the county.

Being a Consultant Social Worker is an opportunity to progress your social work career. You will join a group of expert leaders delivering, prestigious, high-profile initiatives, and work with exceptionally talented individuals.

As a Consultant Social Worker, you will act in an expert role advising on practice issues in your specific expert area. You will educate and support social work colleagues as well as lead on practice research and development.

The role will require you to support social work teams across the county including MPFT and SCC where queries arise, and will provide support to deliver effective excellent social work practice that enables adults in our communities to achieve their outcomes.

You will work in a strengths-based way whilst continuing to manage a reduced case load and supporting others where complex cases are experienced. You will also promote social justice and human rights in line with core social work activities and values.

What you’ll bring

  • Minimum of 2 years post qualifying experience
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Highly motivated, can-do attitude.
  • Be able to motivate, mentor and support colleagues
  • Have highly developed communication skills
