The role

We are delighted to be recruiting to a new role of Paramedic to Oxted Health Centre within the South Tandridge Primary Care Network. Working as part of a multi-disciplinary team within Oxted Health Centre, the successful applicant will be an experienced Paramedic registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) who is capable of providing care to patients from; initial history taking, clinical assessment, diagnosis, treatment and evaluation of care, following local and national protocols. You will demonstrate safe, clinical decision-making and expert care, including assessment and diagnostic skills, for patients within the general practice.

The post is directly employed by Dorking Health Care (local GP Federation) and will be based in the GP Practice and be part of the practice team. This is a full-time role including some evenings and Saturdays.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will:

• provide a specialist Paramedic resource for health care professionals and service users, working in collaboration with other members of the Multidisciplinary Team.

• work within the community, as an autonomous, accountable, Paramedic Practitioner, in the provision of a holistic approach for individuals including assessment, diagnosis and treatment, to deliver quality patient services.

• assess, diagnose, treat, refer, or signpost patients/service users who attend surgery with undifferentiated or undiagnosed condition relating to minor illness or minor injury.

• use advanced clinical skills to provide education to service users, promoting self-care and empower them to make informed choices about their treatment.

The successful candidate will join the primary care team in continuing to provide a high standard of clinical care and creating a service that effectively and efficiently meet the needs of our patients. There will be the need to prioritise and triage the needs of patients accordingly, making any necessary referrals for investigations in the appropriate manner.

About us

Oxted Health Centre is an exciting busy practice with a list size of approximately 17,000 covering the Oxted and Hurst Green locality. The centre is a GP training practice and provides all general primary care services which include specialised clinics such as LARC and Minor Ops.
