Senior Buyer

NHS Blood and Transplant (NHSBT)
£25,655 to £31,534 pa

You will be part of a dedicated team of procurement professionals responsible for negotiating and managing a variety of business critical commercial contracts and framework agreements for the provision of goods and services to NHSBT.

You will work with the Contract Managers, suppliers and internal directorate customers to manage the contracting process end to end, to ensure that all interested parties needs are met.

You will be responsible for assisting the National Purchasing Manager - Operations in delivering contracts that are robust, free from risk, legally binding and importantly cost efficient and effective. Ensuring that NHSBT can demonstrate to the public through the scrutiny of internal and external audit, that it obtains best value for money on its contracted non-pay expenditure and achieves savings targets

You will ensure compliance with Public Procurement Regulations including the legally mandated Public Contract Regulations and NHSBT Standing Orders and Financial Instructions.

You will also be required to assist in the management of our internal catalogue, purchase order processing and invoice queries as relevant to ensure internal customer receive the right goods and the right time to be able to support front line service.

You may be required to spend time away from base to meet the requirements of the post, with notice.

There are 2 roles for this position and both hours and a working pattern can be discussed at interview, if successful.
