In addition to transplantation, Royal Papworth Hospital has the UK’s largest Respiratory Support and Sleep Centre (RSSC) and is one of five UK centres providing Extra Corporeal Membrane Oxygenation (ECMO) to patients experiencing severe respiratory failure. It is also the only centre in the UK for a number of specialist services including Pulmonary Endarterectomy and Balloon Pulmonary Angioplasty (BPA).

PH and BPA Specialist Nurse Administrator
Band 3

Hours per week: Full Time – 37.5

This is an exciting opportunity for an independent, organised and motivated administrator to come and work as part of our busy Pulmonary Vascular Disease Unit!

Our specialist clinicians support and treat patients with Pulmonary Hypertension (PH). We are the only NHS centre in the UK commissioned to provide Balloon Pulmonary Angioplasty (BPA). There is a positive and supportive culture within the department and the whole team works hard to ensure new members receive a warm welcome.   

The post holder will be based at Royal Papworth Hospital and will support the specialist nurses with administrative tasks. These include:  

-        Prepping, booking and outcoming clinics.

-        Administrating the BPA MDT meeting once a month.

-        Liaising with other centres/ providers to chase results.

-        Dealing with patient queries on the phone.

-        Working collaboratively with all members of the multi-disciplinary team.  

The successful applicant will be trained on the systems we use within the department and wider trust. There is also the opportunity to work autonomously and ‘make the role your own’. Please note that this role does not include face to face patient contact.
