First Contact Practitioner / Advanced Practice Physiotherapist

The Isle of Wight NHS Trustis offering an exciting opportunity to work across the MSK pathway supporting patients in both Primary and Secondary Care.

As a member of our Community Outpatient Cluster team, the First Contact Practitioner (FCP) combined Advanced Practice Physiotherapist post offers an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic individual motivated to continue to develop local Musculoskeletal integrated services and seamless pathway provision. As such, this role provides opportunity to work across services with consideration of personal clinical interest and experience. Clinical experience is paramount along with self-management, strong leadership skills and the ability to work within interdisciplinary teams. Awareness of and the ability to map and develop in line with the National MSK FCP and AP Frameworks across the four pillars of advanced Practice is essential. Clear guidance is available. First Contact Practitioners & Advanced Practitioners - Roadmaps to Practice | Health Education England (hee.nhs.uk)and locally we have a growing team with a supervision and support structure tailored to each individual.

Successful applicants will demonstrate clinical and professional leadership ability to support others through, supervision, training, and education as well as service development and research. Likewise, applicants can look forward to training and development structured to suit their individual development needs with opportunities such as: independent prescribing; injection therapy; leadership development; diagnostic imaging assessment skills; other diagnostic requests and many more advanced practice skills. Interested applicants must evidence 5 years relevant post graduate experience with suitable clinical experience within the MSK specialism which maps Stage 1 of the Roadmap along with appropriate post-graduate qualification, HCPC registration and UK NHS experience.

Traffic congestion is rare keeping the work commute to a minimum with many of the team opting to cycle to work.
