£32,306 - £39,027 per annum pro rata

Glossop ward are looking for a band 6 registered nurse or highly skilled band 5 with the enthusiasm to take on the Clinical Educator role for Trauma + Orthopaedics. This post will include exposure to expanding your leadership and trainer skills. The post will be a substantive contract of 18.75 hrs per week.

The candidate will need to have a keen interest in Education and clinical training and with the support of the clinical tutors, nurse specialists and the therapy team, provide inhouse training to ward based staff and trust wide where appropriate. We would expect the post holder to deliver Annual trauma update days and to involve relevant specialities.

Glossop is a 30 bedded Trauma / Orthopaedic unit, specialising in falls and fractures associated with frailty. We are actively involved with the Royal college of Physicians Hip fracture database – entering data to demonstrate best practice. We also attend the Peninsula Trauma Network meetings and link with the NMTNG group to ensure best practice, utilising TARN data.

We have a significant number of patients with Dementia and have very strong links with the Dementia Admiral nursing team. We are constantly striving to improve the inpatient experience while this group of patients are with us.

A current and valid NMC registration is required for this nursing post and a commitment to work days, nights, weekends and bank holidays is essential to meet the services needs.
