We are delighted to offer the opportunity to undertake a degree level apprenticeship to become a fully registered mental health nurse.
This is an exciting opportunity to start your career in mental health through a 3 year degree apprenticeship programme. You will learn new skills, study a BSc Mental Health Nursing degree and develop as an individual, all whilst earning a salary of £16,500 - £18,576 per annum for 3 years. If you’ve recently studied psychology or health and social and are considering how you can start your career, then maybe mental health nursing is the pathway for you to follow.

During your apprenticeship, you will have the opportunity to experience placements within Lincolnshire Partnership NHS Trust and the wider Lincolnshire health and social care system. The trust provides mental health and learning disabilities services across the whole of the county of Lincolnshire and therefore placements may be at any geographical area of the county. Successful applicants will be required to travel independently around to county to fulfil these placements. The University of Lincoln may be able to help with the provision of a lease car.

The trust particularly welcomes applications from residents in the East and South East of the county.
Placements may include inpatient mental health units, rehabilitation, community based services serving patients through the whole age range from adolescent to older age.

The role will require theoretical study at degree level, with attendance at the University of Lincoln. As an apprentice, it means you will be employed on a permanent contract, but to remain employed, you will successfully complete the nursing degree apprenticeship. On completion of the degree studies, you will be a registered mental health nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Council and will be offered a registered nurse position within the Trust.

To be eligible to apply for this degree apprenticeship, you must meet the criteria set by the University of Lincoln. These are:

Registered Mental Health Nurse Apprenticeship entry requirements:
•GCE Advanced Levels: Grade BBC or,
•International Baccalaureate: 29 points overall, or
•BTEC Extended Diploma: Distinction, Merit, Merit or
•Access to Higher Education Diploma: 45 Level 3 credits with a minimum of 96 UCAS Tariff points, or
Applicants will also need GCSEs at grade 4 (C) or above, including English and Maths, or equivalent qualifications, such as Functional Skills Level 2

You are expected to remain employed by the trust for a minimum of 3 years post qualification. There will be a financial repayment within these 3 years. This is an exciting and unmissable opportunity to gain your degree and become a fully qualified mental health nurse with no tuition fees to pay, with a set wage throughout. Over the duration of the 3 year degree course you will be supported by your line manager, university tutors and other Trust staff including the and Clinical Lead for Nurse Apprenticeships.

Joint interviews between the university and the Trust will take place between18th September-31st October 2022. If successful, you will commence your role in December 2022 and work full time in your hosting area to gain valuable operational experience, before commencing your apprenticeship academic study in January 2023.

We offer 24-hour services within our Inpatient, Crisis and SPA teams, if you are successfully appointed to posts in these areas or others that might have specified, you will be required to work unsociable hours and shift patterns.
