Pharmacy Technician

Our organisation has had a successful year with substantial new hires and we are now recruiting for an experienced Pharmacy Technician to join our pharmacy team based in the South Tandridge PCN within Oxted Health Centre. Full time working will be required.

The successful applicant will support and work alongside the Clinical Pharmacists in the Health Centre and will play a pivotal role in our multi-disciplinary team to support safe and effective delivery of the new Network Contract DES Service specifications. This will involve supporting the Clinical Pharmacists with structured medication reviews and medicines optimisation. There is also a large administrative component to this role which will include undertaking patient safety audits. There will be patient facing aspects to this role and patient supporting to ensure effective use of medicines, assist in patient safety audits and support the implementation of national prescribing policies and guidance with the GP practices, care homes and other primary care settings.

The person

The successful applicant should possess excellent people management and communication skills as well as proven organisational skills with a high regard for confidentiality at all times. You would be required to oversee the practice reception teams in sorting and streaming general prescription requests and develop good relationships with other pharmacy technicians, pharmacists and members of the multi-disciplinary team. You should possess excellent IT skills working with meticulous attention to detail and have the ability to problem solve, creating solutions to issues that arise.

We are seeking a knowledgeable, ambitious and skilled professional with dedication and a good customer service ethos. The successful applicant must be registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council. In addition, you will meet the specific qualification and training requirements as specified by the GPhC criteria to register as a Pharmacy Technician.

Travel between the different GP Practices within the PCN will be necessary, so a car driver would be ideal.

The PCN’s are critical to the changing NHS and are the focal point of all locally developed planning and service delivery.
