Neonatal Practice Development Nurse

The Neonatal Unit at Sunderland Royal Hospital is a Level 3 provider within the Northern Neonatal Network. We are a busy unit and require an experienced Neonatal Nurse with a passion for education and service improvement to join our hard working team.

Our strong team work ethos enables all staff to develop and learn new skills. Educational opportunities will be given to meet the neonatal nurse career progression guidelines for Qualified in Speciality.

The Practice Development Nurse has a prime responsibility to develop and support Neonatal staff to ensure that clinical competence is upheld in accordance with the NMC code.

The post-holder will facilitate innovation and the development of evidence based nursing within the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. Working to help develop a culture that will support improvement and innovation in clinical practice and empowerment of nurses. To support staff to make the necessary changes in their practice as require by Trust, Network and National new developments.

The post-holder will possess a wealth of specialist knowledge and skills, with an enthusiasm to share this with colleagues to promote patient safety, whilst improving service user experience
